1. Definitions
1.1. Subscriptions
Euractiv offers two types of subscriptions, (i) the Euractiv Pro subscription and (ii) the Euractiv Plus (‘Euractiv+’) subscription, the contents and/or services of which are specified on the website. In general:
The Euractiv+ subscriptions offer access to:
- all Euractiv articles with the exception of Pro labelled articles (readers without a subscription have restricted access by metering).
- The Euractiv Pro subscription offer access to:
- All Euractiv articles, including Pro labelled articles
- Euractiv Pro newsletters, exclusively sent to Euractiv Pro clients
A website visitor can also apply for a trial subscription to Euractiv Pro by completing an application form on the website. A trial is free and without obligation. The duration of the trial period will be communicated at the time of activation. We may terminate the trial at any moment and refuse any request for a trial without giving any reason for this decision.
By taking a trial or purchasing a subscription and accepting a quote, the user declares to have read, agreed and accepted with the Terms and Conditions. Euractiv has the right of changing the pricing, the content of the subscription and the media or the publication of the media at any time.
1.2. Subscribers
A +subscriber represents an individual who purchased a monthly or yearly Euractiv+ subscription. In order to purchase an Euractiv+ subscription, the user must have at least the minimum legal age to enter into a contract in your country of residence.
A corporate subscriber is a natural person with the legal capacity to contract in the name and on behalf of the legal entity for which he works that pays for several users to access the Euractiv Pro subscription and its content on a yearly basis.
2. Account creation
Buying a subscription requires to create an account on Euractiv.com.
The subscriber can access his account at any time after having entered his login and password.
2.1. Account security
Accounts are created at user-level and are for a single user only. It is prohibited to share the login credentials with anyone else. Euractiv has the right of cancelling your subscription or revoking the access to our content if the login credentials are shared with someone else.
The subscriber is responsible of maintaining the confidentiality of his password for which we will not request revealing it to any member of the Euractiv staff. In case of suspicion of unauthorized use of the subscribers account, including loss or theft of personal information (i.e. password, credit card), the subscriber can request support via email at premium@euractiv.com.
The use of a personal email address is only permitted for Euractiv+ subscriptions. For Pro subscriptions the email address of all users must be in accordance with the type of address of the subscribed legal entity.
2.2. Communication between Euractiv and Subscribers
By creating an account, the subscriber agrees that Euractiv will send communications regarding the account either via email, phone or SMS. The communication can contain:
- Account notifications
- Order notifications (i.e. password changes, card expirations)
- General notifications (i.e. changes to terms and conditions)
2.3. Data Protection
A subscriber is entitled to have access to the articles included in the subscription that are purchased. As a consequence, a subscriber is required to log in to his account in order to have access and to be recognised as a subscriber.
3. Payment conditions
Subscriber Payment is due 30 calendar days after the invoice date. For corporate subscription payments, the customer must ensure payment is made within 30 days from the invoice date. For online subscriptions, payment must be completed immediately at the time of purchase.
If a Subscriber does not pay on time, the Provider reserves the right to (i) charge interest of 5 per cent per month applied on the amount invoiced from the initial due date, (ii) remove any advertising material or references to the Client from the Site, remove subscriber access (iii) take any legal steps.
4. Cancellation and refund policy
A subscriber is entitled to a statutory withdrawal period of 14 calendar days starting from the day of your purchase. Within this period he will be granted a full refund of the payment, even if he already have enjoyed the access to paid for content or the newsletters.
After the withdrawal period a monthly or yearly subscription can be cancelled in advance; however, a refund will not be provided for the current billing cycle. The subscriber cancels future charges associated with the subscription. This means that the cancellation will only become effective at the end of the current subscription period, and the access will be continued to the subscription for the remainder of the subscription period.
For subscriptions that are cancelled within a free trial period, the cancellation will become effective immediately.
